Inside the workshop
The flashy fix is to rip the cluster out and bolt in something aftermarket. The right fix is slower — strip it, lift the PCB, inspect every joint under magnification, re-flow what's failing, bench-test the lot. The cluster you get back is the one your car was born with — only working properly again.

Full strip-down — dials, needles, lens, housing separated. Every component catalogued before work begins.

PCB extraction
Circuit board lifted from the housing. Cold joints and cracked traces identified for re-flow.

Magnified inspection
Every joint checked under magnification. Suspect connections re-flowed and verified before reassembly.

Dial face removal
Dial faces carefully removed for cleaning or replacement. Original Nissan markings preserved where possible.

Rear solder inspection
Back of the board checked for cold joints around stepper motors and connector pins.

Hand re-solder
Every cold joint re-flowed by hand using a temperature-controlled iron. No shortcuts — pin by pin.

Bench tested & done
Cluster powered up on the bench. All gauges, backlights, and warning lamps verified before packing for return.

Testing & QC
Every gauge, backlight, and warning lamp bench-tested. Only passes QC if everything works perfectly.

All speedometer and tachometer re-soldering work is covered by a 12-month warranty from the date your cluster is returned. If a joint we re-flowed fails within that period, send it back and we'll repair it at no charge.
Upon inspection, your cluster may require additional parts beyond the purchased service tier (e.g. damaged stepper motors, corroded connectors, or cracked PCB traces). In such cases we will contact you with a quote for the additional work. If you choose not to proceed, we reserve the right to cancel the service and issue a full refund. Your cluster will be returned unmodified at no extra cost.
