Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how OzSec Pty Ltd (ACN 679 706 542) trading as Tachofi(“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information in connection with the Tachofi website, quoting system, repair services and related communications (collectively, the “Service”). We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) to the extent they apply.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to quote, repair, ship and support your job:

  • Identity and contact details: name, email, phone, return shipping address.
  • Vehicle and job details: make, model, year, VIN where relevant, fault description, photos and files you upload.
  • Transaction data: invoice references, amounts, payment status. Card details are handled directly by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers.
  • Communications: messages you send us via the website, email, SMS, Telegram or Messenger.
  • Technical data: IP address, device, browser, referrer, pages viewed and basic analytics cookies.

2. How we use it

  • To prepare quotes, perform repair work, take payment and ship parts back to you.
  • To communicate about your job, including status updates, warranty matters and follow-up.
  • To operate, secure and improve the Service, including fraud prevention and dispute handling.
  • To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations (including GST records under Australian tax law).
  • With your consent, to send occasional product or service updates. You can opt out at any time.

3. Disclosure

We disclose personal information only to:

  • Service providers who help us run the business — hosting, email, SMS, payment processing (Stripe), shipping carriers, accounting and analytics — under confidentiality obligations.
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers) when reasonably required.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
  • A successor entity in the event of a sale, merger or restructure of the business.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Overseas transfers

Some service providers (e.g. Stripe, our hosting and email platforms) store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and European Union. By using the Service you consent to those transfers. We take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle your data consistently with the APPs.

5. Storage and security

We use reputable cloud infrastructure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for unauthorised access not caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. We retain records as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (typically at least 7 years for tax records).

6. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to operate the site (e.g. cart and session) and limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not work.

7. Your rights

You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@tachofi.com.au. We may need to verify your identity first and may charge a reasonable cost-recovery fee for substantial access requests. If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us first; if unresolved you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always at this URL and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
